“A beautiful and elegant old home in the Pennsylvania countryside with lovely views of the mountains and wonderful gardens, convenient to tiwn and the college but awaty from the hubbub.. Our room was not large but very adequate, cozy and comfortable bed. Would have liked some glasses and tissues in bathroom. Nice coffee and snack bar out in the hallway.Wish we had had more time and better weather to enjoy the lovely outdoor patio area and pool -and to view all the interior decor and furnishings.……

“My daughter and I stayed here for one night when there was an issue with our air bnb. It was a last minute booking and Dawn got our room ready in very little time with lots of lovely personal details. The room was beautifully furnished, spacious and comfortable and Dawn goes above and beyond to ensure her guests are comfortable with tea, coffee, wine, soft drinks and snacks (including delicious home baked cookies) available to help yourself. In the evening she showed us the amazing evening……

“We absolutely loved our stay at the Thornwald Mansion. It is nicely secluded in a park yet you are within walking distance to Dickinson College and a shopping center. The property has outstanding amenities and the food selections at breakfast were delicious. The service exceeded our expectations. The room and the bed were comfortable and very quiet. This mansion went under fire and then was rebuilt by the current owner from the ground up paying attention to detail and preserving its history. The……

“Very spacious suite. Ceiling fan in bedroom was great - so few hotels have that and we loved it. A nice breakfast buffet with hot food included. 5 minute drive to Dickinson. Not quite in the muddle of the shops/restaurants of Carlisle as I was hoping (more residential area) but the extra space was worth it. ”

“Really enjoyed our stay. However, our first impression was not very enjoyable. We arrived to check in at 5:20pm and no one was at the front desk. A sign was up that said they were away and would return soon. Yet, we waited five minutes before anyone arrived to help check us in. I looked for a number to call, but could not find one for this property. Not being able to check in immediately was disappointing. ”
