“Our extended family of 9 enjoyed being in the house and appreciated all of the space. There were a couple of things that needed to be addressed, but the owner communicated with us immediately & these were taken care of.With some cosmetic updates this property would be a 5.”

“If you’re looking for quiet and solitude, along with a homey place to lay your head - Windswept is it. My husband and I took our two miniature dachshunds with us for 7 days and 6 nights. There was a yard for them to run around in, a long board walk through a salt marsh down to a private beach. We caught crabs ( and threw them back), we flew kites, and just rested. One day we did take the Cedar Island ferry to Oacrscoke (a four hour journey - there and back). Be prepared to come with……

“Of all the places we could have stayed in our first time at Oriental this one was perfect. The upstairs apartment was a great place to bird watch (we wished we'd brought our binoculars!) and take in the water view. The place was extremely clean and well stocked, even with sugar for our coffee. The only confusing thing was finding the door which happens to be from the same porch as the lower level apartment. Otherwise, wish we could have stayed longer!”

“We stayed at the Sunrise over North River Beaufort House for 10 nights at the end of April to the beginning of May. We had two adults, a pet and a service dog in our party. We were grateful to have a peaceful location with all the amenities of home. The updated main living areas are very nice. The TV, recliners, and view out the sliding glass door were a nice retreat from hectic days.One thing we enjoyed was spotting wildlife and sunrises. “Wonderful lodging for the traveler who wants a quiet and scenic location. Cottage is remote with a scenic drive to reach. Short walk to a quiet wide-open beach. Enjoyed evenings on a lovely large screened in porch. Easy private parking. Interior was comfortable and clean. Outdoor shower was great when returning from beach. Tiny kitchen but has all one needs to cook.”
