“Great location. The hotel is almost next door to the railway station. The room is clean, warm. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only drawback is that there is no lift and the staircase is very narrow, which made carrying four suitcases upstairs a real challenge.”

The staff were extraordinarily friendly and attentive. The food was incredible and some of the best we have had at any hotel. Great place to use as a base while in the area. They have set the bar extremely high, just hope they can maintain it!”

“Great staff, bar was packed on arrival but we were checked in to our room straight away. Far too busy & noisy to eat in the bar, so they opened the restaurant for us and another couple so that we could eat in peace. Despite the number of customers we were served quickly and efficiently. Very good food. Room was a bit tired, flaking paint and in need of a bit of updating but the bed was comfortable and the room reasonably quiet even though on a main street. “Really enjoyed our stay, our friends had a room also I had e.mailed the hotel and asked if we could be close to each other and they e.mailed back to say they had allocated two rooms near each other. Our rooms were clean and had everything we needed including hairdryer , ironing board and iron . Would definitely stay again if we were in the area .”

“Really nice pub, convenient for Ludlow and the Shropshire Hills. Winter weekend break for us, nice big clean quiet room, comfy bed, plenty of space and large bathroom. All the staff very friendly and efficient, had a nice meal there - steak well cooked - and the breakfast was tasty, good quality ingredients and served quickly and with a smile. The bar area was nice, log fire burning and lots of locals in there. One negative was the water temp in the shower - I imagine as it’s an old……
