“The staff were very welcoming. The room was amazing. The breakfast choices were varied. My wife had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast and i had the big full english, both of which were cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. We highly recommend you stay here if you get the chance.”
“A lovely pub, great food, really great staff who couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly - and a good nights sleep in a well equipped room. Lots of quirky decorative touches.”
“Pros: Great location if you’re visiting / doing business in Ampthill. Great food and drinks downstairs. The staff were always friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Cons: no on premise parking. Closest parking is a municipal lot…10 pounds for 24 hours. When I checked in my room was made up as 2 singles instead of a double as requested. Beds were a tad small & uncomfortable. Walls are thin, I could hear my neighbors “chatting” until midnight the night before I was planning on checking out.
Otherwise……
“Lovely quiet hotel friendly helpful staff. Excellent food in restaurant. Comfortable room and bed but only downside was that shower over bath had low sloping ceiling so couldn’t stand up had to sit in bath and shower yourself no shower curtain or screen. ”
“We had a one night stay for a meeting in the region. The hotel is not near to any other Pubs so you are rather captive, it has a nice garden terrace area next to the river, this is very pleasant in warm weather. We were however very disappointed that despite being residents we were not allowed to use this unless eating. A bizarre rule.”
“Bedding and towels were clean and good quality. The room was clean if decoratively tired.
The area outside the window was untidy, I don't think all guests avoided smoking.”
“The management team is very friendly and helpful but security sense is not sufficient as the cleaning lady forgot to close the windows. If you do not request too high standard of room service, it would be a good choice.”
“I believe it was a 4 poster junior sweet which was EXCEPTIONAL AND SPACIOUS. Lovely big bath so my parter was happy. We booked last minute sparebut had a reservation of a normal double the following day. I asked to have the same room and was kindly accommodated with no extra charges which was extremely nice ”
“We had an amazing stay.
The lace is old and quirky and very beautiful.
David the host is brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble.
He makes the stay very interesting and enjoyable.
The food is top quality. Made fresh every morning.
The grounds are beautiful. We sat in the sun reading a book.
The whole area is lovely as are the people.,
Harlington Manor is old and everything is doo very interesting.

“Friendly staff in this hotel, food excellent and varied.
Lovely big bedroom, comfy beds with vintage furniture, bathroom could do with a bit of a makeover. Superb view looking over the river with the swans and ducks.
No lift in the hotel so I did struggle with the stairs.”
“Overall not bad. The hotel was built a long time ago. Even though you took the lift, there were still many stairs to go if you were assigned to the 3rd floor. I checked out the hotel on 5/21 morning. The black girl at the front desk was not very helpful.”
“The room and view facilities were fantastic. The bar and restaurant downstairs were busy, but the accommodation upstairs was quiet. The Polish lad (I think) who works there was really friendly, helpful, and quirky. The only two slight issues were that the parking was a bit of a trip but not a deal breaker (£10 per p/night) and that there was a group staying in the room next door who must have been chain-smoking as it stank out the corridor, etc. Other than that, the stay was top class and I will……
“I would highly recommend to stay here. I enjoyed the quirky decor and was very clean and comfortable. I was suprised to find I had a bath in my room but no shower but made a change! The room was in the attic so very hot but once I'd turned off the radiator, opened the windows and staff found me a fan it was ok.Good breakfast and would return when next in the area.”
