“The Lodge is beautiful in the middle of a lush jungle area. The rooms are very cozy and the whole structure is perfectly integrated in the environment. Excellent food and most importantly the kindness of all the stuff. Worth staying several days”

“Our stay was AMAZING!! Beautiful property!! The BREAKFAST was sooo good!! We were away for lunch everyday, sadly! And dinner was Ok! I specifically book riverview #4 for the outside shower and tub. The ONLY recommendation I’d have is to find a way to cover the tub so we don’t have to clean it out before each use. I wasn’t even able to use it during my time there. But the shower was great! ”

“We loved our stay in the Turtle room! We had a last minute change in our itinerary and needed a place for only one night... But we wished we had more time at this spot! The owners are very kind and responsive. The room was very comfy and cozy. I appreciated all the shelving in the rooms and bathroom. AC worked great. And the screened in porch was really wonderful to hang out on. It's also in a great location for wandering around the village. ”

“Clement, the owner of the property, was very kind and helpful. The room was simple but clean. A great value. Nice location right on the ocean and near a beautiful river. “I stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. The resort is a distance from placencia town so if you wanna save money on transportation to town you have to book the free shuttle service that the hotel runs daily. The hours for this service are 10am & 2:30pm. Meals at Umaya in my opinion are overpriced and the chef needs to be replaced as the food is not very good and the portions are way too small for what you pay for. Overall, if you want peace & quiet and good relaxation then definitely……
