“Great boutique hotel. Stylish good sized room. Room included a nespresso coffee machine, fresh milk, homemade macarons and a couple of complimentary alcoholic beverages. The toiletries smelled amazing! Sunday lunch in restaurant was excellent. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.”

“This was our first visit to the hotel since it was refurbished. I’d saved up to take my husband there for his birthday treat. When we got there, we were so impressed and our room was lovely, apart from it feeling very warm. We realised that we were directly above the kitchen. It was really noisy, as the extractor fan was so noisy to the point that it felt like we were about to take off on an aeroplane ( and that is no exaggeration ) We were kept awake by the staff laughing outside and throwing……

“Perfect location for walking, as on bus route to beauty spots from which you can walk back. Brilliant to have plenty of parking and an exceptionally large apartment, recently refurbished, with all amenities. Only downside was staff made a lot of noise under my room until 1am. Otherwise ideal with reasonably priced food and open fires at the pub downstairs. ”

“An overnight stop on the way to York from Devon. Nice room with very comfortable bed. Great pub garden which looked very well equipped for children. Across the road from Chatsworth grounds, where we had a lovely walk. Baslow is very picturesque and the Peak District is beautiful. Good hearty food and great breakfast. Lovely friendly staff. Really good value for money. Highly recommend this traditional pub which also serves excellent Marston’s beer. ”

“The room was as you would expect for the money. The major disappointment was the lack of a blind for the skylight which meant the room was very light until quite late and then again from early, a nightmare for trying to get children to sleep.”
