“This hotel is located in a beautiful old building with a gorgeous garden. The rooms are charming. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast each day and the bar in the evening. Nice wine selection! Its a great locattion for visiting Chatsworth House and the beautful scenery of the Peak Distict.”

Delicious breakfast and we ate at the hotel both evenings. Good choice of food. Averagely priced. Comfortable room but pillows a bit too firm for me.

“The main thermal pool in the basement was unfortunately too hot during this particular visit. We've stayed several times before; this was the first time the water was uncomfortably hot (there could have been a on-off problem with the heat regulation valve). Our room at the corner of the building was quiet, well air-conditioned and comfortable. The breakfast was decent but they ran out of croissants and other pastries pretty early on and failed to replenish the tray. I don't see why they couldn't……

Owners and staff welcoming and friendly, good food, breakfast & evening, good service. Shepherds huts are clean, warm & cosy.
Within good distance for both Chatsworth House & Bakewell also good walks from the inn.
