“Something I don't think is clear enough, The rooms are inside a restaurant. We stayed in one of the two rooms inside the building (it looks like there were additional tents on the property). The staff were friendly and helpful, we were provided our welcome drink upon arrival and able to check in early. While the room itself is well decorated and curated, it had a mini fridge and coffee maker, AC and a hanging space for your clothes. There was also no hand towel or floor towel provided for the……

“Beautifully furnished and comfortable condo nestled in a jungle setting overlooking the ocean. Sparkling clean infinity pool, full kitchen, BBQ pit on back patio, excellent service from host and staff. The 5k maintained rock road to get there from main hwy is a bit of a rough drive but well worth it. This was our 5th trip to Costa Rica and we have stayed at many wonderful places- but none as amazing as CanaVida. Only stayed 2 nights- wish we had stayed 2 weeks! ”

“This location is a bird watching, listening, paradise. The cabins are surrounded by lush vegetation and trees. The owner Cede is very friendly and accommodating. We had dinner and breakfast and both were delicious and reasonably priced. We stayed here Friday Nov. 8, 2024 and were the only guest due to the rainy season. Would love to return when it is NOT raining. The rooms were clean and spacious. A great place to stay and easy to get to with good roads. We toured the chocolate farm……

“The place is perfectly located, beautiful mountains view with an incredible sunset watching point. It has a great proximity to Santa Elena, Monteverde and all attractions around. Communication with the host is very smooth. Yaloco Chalet is semi-glamping accomodation though (tent door in the main bedroom), it is a bit challenging to rest when you have a light sleep - quite noisy with wind and/ or rain. Other than that it was a nice 2-nights' stay.”

“Located in the heart of Santa Teresa, this was a decent stop for a couple of nights. Bear in mind it is located directly off the main strip, so it is quite loud at all times. That being said, the property is extremely walkable with all amenities close by, and no 4x4 required to access unlike some of the other properties located up the hill. . The living room AC kept the unit cool, and the equipped kitchen was appreciated. Decent price for the space, and property rep was very responsive.”

“My family of six had LOTS of room to spread out. We enjoyed our stay. It was convenient to locations we were visiting in the city. We appreciated the grocery and quick meal options nearby, within a short walking distance. On check-in the cleaning was still in progress so maybe not everything was complete. The floors were swept but not mopped, they were fairly dirty. The table needed to be wiped. Some of the dishes were not fully cleaned from previous use. With that said, we enjoyed it very much……

"This hotel deserves zero stars if that were an option. It was a terrible experience, and here’s why:
1. Outdated Facilities: The roof appears to have been neglected for years, and the overall condition of the facilities is poor.
2. Worn-out Bedding: The bed linens were old and tattered, making for an uncomfortable sleep.
3. Unpleasant Odor: The room smelled damp and musty, reminiscent of an old, poorly ventilated house.
4. No Umbrellas Provided: On a rainy night, the so-called resort had no umbrellas available for guests.
5. Inedible Food: The quality of the food was extremely poor.
6. No Water Without Warning: There was a water outage during the night without any prior notice or warning. The room had no phone, so I had to run to the front desk in the pouring rain, only to find no staff present. This resulted in not being able to shower in the hot weather and could not use tolit until the following day.
7. Incorrect Wi-Fi Password: The Wi-Fi password provided at check-in was incorrect. We had to make a second trip to the front desk to be told it was a printing error.
The most unacceptable part was the unannounced water outage. At 11 p.m., I attempted to take a shower, only to find there was no water—neither for bathing nor for the toilet. I went to the front desk, which was completely unmanned. The next day, when I brought up the issue with staff, one person claimed the water was only off for 10 minutes, and another, after consulting the manager, said it was 30 minute"
