“It was great to stay in an historic hotel and learn about the history of the property and the town. Loved the ornate beauty of the rooms and the king sized bed was comfortable. The option of breakfast in the dining room was a plus. Emily was sweet and eager to please the guests. ”

“The only two downsides were a lack of WiFi and cell service (only available in the main house) and no GPS. They do send you very detailed directions, but if you are wholly unfamiliar with the area, it can be a little unsettling to be on winding roads outside of civilization with no cell service. I admittedly panicked (we drove for 12 straight hours overnight), and our friend was on the verge of declaring us missing because he couldn't get in touch with us. “What a great property and amazing host. Our check in details were provided well before our check in time which makes everything work smoothly. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare meals and also a grill outside with a side burner. We ate in the whole trip. “The location alone is spectacular, particularly in mid-fall, though the boats are absolutely right that it's a cell phone wasteland. Fortunately the house WiFi can handle all but the most intense gaming loads (bandwidth is great but satellite-level pings) and has plenty of TVs board games, and other pastimes for those seeking a digital detox. The hosts were great with communication, offering to help when needed but also perfectly willing to keep a distance when we wanted to embrace the……

The original place we rented had some water issues so prior to our arrival, we were contacted and offered the Deerling which happened to be bigger with no additional charge. I really appreciated that, it was very nice and accommodating. The place was immaculate. So clean, cute decor, and very secluded which is exactly what my husband and I were looking for.
