“Richard was a great host though there were quite a lot of strict rules sent before fhe stay and during which made us feel a bit on edge! Felt a bit like someone had let us stay in their home rather than we were paying guests. But the house is immaculate and grand so I can see why care is needed. The area is very quiet and theres not alot in the nighbouring towns. Probably Alnwick a 15-20 min drive away is your biggest town. You need to be self carering but kitchens well equipped. Comfortable……

“This is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed at- beautifully clean, great facilities and so many lovely thoughtful touches! It really felt like luxury as everything was just so high quality. The underfloor heating, log burner and amazing mattress/sheets were highlights for us! Loved the complimentary extras too, particularly the pint of milk as you often forget to bring that when you arrive in the evening. The view from the kitchen is very special when you’re making your morning cup of tea.……
