“Perfect spot for the Peaks”

“Just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay at The George which was the perfect location to explore the Peak District. Our room (Jane) was very comfortable, roomy and tastefully designed. It was at the front of the hotel but very well sound proofed as traffic noise was not an issue. Both the breakfast and evening meals were excellent but the true asset of the hotel are the staff. All very cheerful, polite and obviously take pride in their hotel. It was a fabulous few days and we're already……

“Decor and the location ”

“Check in: at the bar. Wait for 5 minutes as the staff served at the bar at that time. Wifi: good. Room: spacious, clean. One grocery shop near by, 5 minutes walk. No self laundry service. Breakfast: not buffet except juoice, milk and cereal, ok, basic. ”

“Passable and decent”

“Typical climbers pub and accomodation. Stone floors fire and decent pub grub. Best pint ofGuinness for a long time. Rooms basic and dogs allowed. Wush we brought hours. Decor is quirky downstairs in pub and even worse in bedroom but the facilities are there. I did not mind it upstairs, lived it downstairs.”

“We were only here for one night, but the hotel was lovely! Staff was friendly and the restaurant downstairs was delicious for dinner. Rooms were nice and spacious and very comfy. No A/C, which we knew going in, so it was nice that a fan was provided. Great place to stay!”
