“Beautiful B&B. Room was delightful and so spacious. Our hosts made us feel very welcome, finding us books and information to enhance our trip. You could feel their warmth and felt that they enjoyed hosting. Really lovely people.
Breakfast was excellent in your own private space, every thing you could need or want was there. The gardens are beautiful to enjoy and the building stunning. Highly recommend.”
“Great host and a very pleasant room. We had the room with the private garden, which would be super, if it had been a tad warmer.
The restaurant recommendation (which came through after booking)was very helpful, along with other useful info on the local area. ”
“We had a very pleasant stay with Maggie and Paddy at The Old Rectory. The accommodation was excellent as was the food at breakfast and dinner. A fine place to drive from to the outlying towns and villages.”
“We had a great time at Rectory Manor, a lovely old georgian country house set in mature garden of trees and lawn with a swimming pool and tennis court if you want some exercise. Our room (the Hudson) was furnished in the country house style and was supremely comfortable. The only downside was the bathroom was a bit small and slightly dated. The bath was too small to properly soak. On the plus side we had an unexpected balcony that caught the morning sun whilst giving beautiful country views……
“We throughly enjoyed our first visit ,the staff were very helpful and informative.
The room was clean and well equipped.
The food was also to a high standard and a good choice.”
“I arrived at the Chantry Hotel just after midday. The proprietor was happy for me to check-in straight away. He was also happy for me to leave my car there for a couple of hours after I’d checked out the following morning. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was first class. My room was on the second floor - the second set of stairs was a little narrow but fortunately I didn’t have much luggage for my overnight stay so it wasn’t a problem for me. I would definitely stay……
“Excellent stay. Very friendly hosts. Games room and sauna avaiable. Several pubs nearby (5 minited drive) for food.
Property is an old house and has several quirky featured you would expect of a property of thay age.”
“Had an issue where I had booked the wrong day and it was a sensitive time with travelling for a funeral. The hotel manager was very understanding and even upgraded my room and provided a hot breakfast also..Amazing customer service, room was clean and a good size, would come again.”
“Always stay here when I’m in the area. Comfortable, clean, welcoming and a great breakfast. You don’t need anything else when staying away with business ”
“The property was tastefully furnished which reflected its historical past. There was a spacious sitting room for use by guests and a kitchen equipped for the heating and simple cooking of meals. The tasty breakfasts were cooked to order with locally sourced ingredients. There was a small but pleasant garden with suitable seating areas.
The staff were always welcoming, helpful and friendly.
It was an easy 12 minute walk into the cathedral area and town.
We had a very comfortable stay although……
“Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing I would say is because it is a pub it can be a little loud if you are wanting and early night. This didn’t affect us but I know some people it will. The food in the pub was very tasty too. ”
“Just love to stay in pubs like this full of old world charm.
The Gainsborough room was excellent.
Would just say though that drinks a bit on the expensive side for a pub”
“Welcoming friendly team, plans had changed and received a free upgrade which was great. Spacious clean room with good facilities. Well equipped gym and nice size pool are available to use. Hotel was very good service abs facilities.
Regretted eating in the restaurant for dinner. Restaurant managers customer service questionable and main meal was not at the quality we would have expected for 2 AA rosette restaurant, hot breakfast also basic. ”
“The hotel is part of a historic inn which was very atmospheric. We stayed in a family room for 3 people and the room was warm and cosy and welcoming as we arrived just before 9pm and it was a bit chilly in the countryside. Breakfast was excellent and in a nice dining room in a genuine rural setting. Service was friendly & excellent.”
