“We had a perfectly fine stay here and the staff were very accommodating - not sure why others have rated this place as unsafe. We needed to check in late after the front desk closed at 8 pm, but called ahead and the staff had no issues keeping it open for us. Rooms were clean and we enjoyed the art on the walls that gave a sense of the region's history. We also highly recommend getting breakfast at the Chocolate Moose just down the street - great coffee, sandwiches, and atmosphere!”

“As we wanted to visit New River Gorge National Park, this house was centrally located & very close to Sandstone Visitor Center. Plan ahead for food & supplies, as it is remote and not much around. My husband wants to return! It's a beautiful area & loved seeing the river. We got used to daily visits from the train.”

“We really enjoyed the accommodations. We especially liked the added bonus of four deer frolicking in the yard. (They also were in the fenced-off garden area causing trouble, but don't tell anybody. LOL)”
