“Loved this fun hotel as a staycation spot with my daughter for a few days at the pool. Great room (king bed with pull-out sofa and view of the pool) that was vintage chic and very comfortable. “We booked a one-night experience for ourselves, our two sons and their respective wives at this highly rated facility as part of our vacation. We arrived early for our check-in, so one of three rooms was available which was fine. The rooms were large but had a musty smell when we entered. The bed was comfortable, but most of the amenities are dated. That said, this was meant to be a “lodge”, so our expectations may have been too high. “Highland Dell is a lovely old lodge overlooking the beautiful Russian River. The host were friendly and helpful. The bed is very comfortable. I highly recommend dining at the restaurant. Our schnitzel was excellent and the house-made apple strudel is unsurpassed! I keep thinking about it. The breakfast included with the room is the best, by far, I have had at a hotel. Try the pastries. The rooms are VERY small, but nice, like in the old days when people didn't have as much stuff. Get over it.……
