“The room and view facilities were fantastic. The bar and restaurant downstairs were busy, but the accommodation upstairs was quiet. The Polish lad (I think) who works there was really friendly, helpful, and quirky. The only two slight issues were that the parking was a bit of a trip but not a deal breaker (£10 per p/night) and that there was a group staying in the room next door who must have been chain-smoking as it stank out the corridor, etc. Other than that, the stay was top class and I will……

“We had an amazing stay. The lace is old and quirky and very beautiful. David the host is brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble. He makes the stay very interesting and enjoyable. The food is top quality. Made fresh every morning. The grounds are beautiful. We sat in the sun reading a book. “Overall not bad. The hotel was built a long time ago. Even though you took the lift, there were still many stairs to go if you were assigned to the 3rd floor. I checked out the hotel on 5/21 morning. The black girl at the front desk was not very helpful.”

“Pros: Great location if you’re visiting / doing business in Ampthill. Great food and drinks downstairs. The staff were always friendly, helpful and welcoming. Cons: no on premise parking. Closest parking is a municipal lot…10 pounds for 24 hours. When I checked in my room was made up as 2 singles instead of a double as requested. Beds were a tad small & uncomfortable. Walls are thin, I could hear my neighbors “chatting” until midnight the night before I was planning on checking out. Otherwise……
