“We wanted a place that was private, quiet and peaceful, and this rental turned out to be the perfect choice! The view of the countryside from our patio went on for miles. Always had a nice breeze! The farm animals were fun to watch, and the dogs were sweet and friendly. Our apartment was fresh and clean, and had everything we needed. The kitchen is very well stocked, if you want to cook at home. The drive into Shiner is quick and easy. We highly recommend this vacation rental.”

“We all had a great time ; especially our granddaughters. James and Marty are excellent hosts. They took the time introduce all the animals to our granddaughters including the goats, chickens, turkey, rabbits and peacocks. The girls got to hold and feed a baby peacock. The accommodations were perfect for us. Thanks for the goat milk for Susan’s coffee. We highly recommend staying at the Byrd’s Nest.”

“We got this house for a weekend getaway for my son 8th birthday . It’s a perfect house for a staycation . “After visiting the town of Schulenburg throughout my entire life, this was the first stay in a home other than that of my grandmother. What a truly beautiful and unique gem! The time slowed as we swung on the porch swing. I loved the lighting by each of the lamps. It was enjoyable to tour each room, wanting to spend time in each. The beds provided a sound night sleep. We were able to watch a movie on Netfiix easily. Overall, I wish I could've stayed longer here.”
