“Booked last minute as we needed to break our journey. Arrived at 20.30 hrs. Staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. As food was only served till 9pm we put our bags in the room and came down for some food. The menu looked good and what we ordered didnt dissapoint. I especially loved the chips qhich were treble cooked. Our room was clean and fairly basic, in a nice sort of way. The bed was very comfortable, i slept right through the night, so what more can you say about a bed. The……

“Hotel really good. Excellent location. A bit disappointed there was no room for us to eat on first night. But hotel was lovely and clean and decor was spot on. Nice there was parking at back of hotel. Would definately stay again.”

“We paid 90 pounds for a 3 single-beded room but got a 70 ponds room. The staff said it not possible to chang the room but are willing to return our money back. The staff is friendly but somehow we still frustrated about the negotiations.”

Breakfast superb, rooms clean and comfy, and 72 free parking round the back of the property make it a great base for a long weekend to explore the area. Would happily return!”

“This was our second visit to Charlton Hall and this time stayed in The Tempus. It didn’t disappoint. Everything is well thought out, the rooms are comfortable and spacious. The entire hotel is beautifully decorated. We ate in the Orangery a couple of times, both of which were delicious. The staff are attentive and courteous. What’s not to love! We will return! ”

“The George Hotel is a wonderful place and one that I will remember well. It's near to Hadrian's Wall and many other old Roman sites to explore. The George Hotel has a charm that countryside adventurers will love. Hikers from the wall come and go and share their stories. That bridge and the river provide a scene that you will remember. Although there is no lift, we found out that the room was easily accessible from the upper parking spaces. Staff was super friendly. The food was excellent……
