“The bar and food were excellent ”

“This was a clean place with lots if room. The owner has done major renovations and I enjoyed having a beer and visiting with a few regulars.”

“Staff friendly and efficient. Rooms clean and modern. Easy access to surrounding towns and attractions. Food plentiful and reasonably priced.”

“Medi, the chef, and his wife, Daniella, run the Inn and gave us both a warm, friendly welcome. The room was tidy and clean and we both had good night's sleeps even though the room was above the pub..I recommend Medi's Eggs Benedict which was fantastic and he also catered in the evening with great home made food - I had the best fish and chips I've had for many a year..I'd recommend the Sunday roast too which was awesome and over generous...and reasonably priced... Next time we're in the area……

“The place is an ancient inn in a wonderful spot of the countryside. Perfect for trips along Hadrian's wall or nice walks in the fields. No restaurants in the area except the inn's one, where it's possibile to eat until 8.30 pm. Excellent beer until late. The toilet area is really tiny, but the rooms are lovely.”

“A lovely traditional building, beautifully decorated and good sized rooms. It's cuisine, not average grub. Challenges me to try something different. Friendly, helpful staff. An affordable treat. Fabulous location close to the Abbey with disc parking across the road and a large free car park 5 minutes walk away by the Wentworth Centre. Second visit. If they start to accept well behaved dogs I'll be back again. ”
