“Despite the proprietor being busy serving in the pub, he greeted me, booked me in and directed me to my room. He requested and noted the time I required breakfast the following day. Next morning, he greeted me and directed me to the breakfast room, when he took my order and served up a perfectly cooked meal within a most acceptable time. An excellent experience.”

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Legacy Rose and Crown. The hotel staff at the front desk were really pleasant and helpful. Dinner was delicious with a lovely view of the river at sunset. Breakfast was quite good, with both hot and cold options, however the coffee could have been hotter. The location is a short, pretty walk from Salisbury Cathedral. ”

“The purpose of my stay in Castle Cary was to go visit the Newt in Somerset.I was warmly greeted and thanks to Martin’s lifts to and from the Newt made it so easy.the house is amazing.the garden backs unto fields.It is idyllic. I recommend this B&B to anyone who loves a beautiful setting”

“Cute cottage, not for anyone mobility challenged. Very hot bedroom, didn't sleep much because of that (need lighter weight duvets), shame as otherwise lovely room & very quiet. Lovely to eat supper overlooking the field of sheep and lambs. Food was average. Pub chairs could be more comfy. Breakfast rather small (a full english was one mushroom, 1 small sausage, 1/2 tomato, scrambled egg & 2 very crispy bits of bacon. Had to request toast. Cold option was lovely but limited, juice, granola,……

“We have just returned from stopping here and I'll have to say we've had a wonderul stay. The room is very well kept very clean it is absolutely beautiful. The host's are so friendly and helpful and really made us feel at home. We had a delicious breakfast included in the price. The location is ideal for exploring salisbury and the beautiful cathedral and only a short drive away is Stonehenge. We would definitely recommend a room in the garden as a pefect place to stay. ”

“We had to give up with the shower. We had been working in Bath and we were both in need of a shower. The water wouldn't heat up. My daughter returned to the bar where we had checked in and a young lady behind the bar said that she would try to reboot it. 10 minutes later still only luke warm. Same 20 minutes after that and we were so tired by then that we had a wash and went to bed. ”
