“The photos do not do this property justice! The property and cabin are beautiful and tranquil. Only 30 minutes to Acadia National Park. Very easy to tour all of Mount Desert Island from the cabin. 10 mintes to a couple of grocery stores. When we first turned onto the dirt/gravel road and the GPS still showed 1 mile to go we were a bit apprehensive but we went to the end of the road and turned into the drive and were met with a stunning view of the cabin, cove and river. The road has several……

“This cabin was perfect for our family vacation. It was very clean and the perfect size for us. We enjoyed seashell hunting at the private beach! We spent a lot of time at Acadia National Park and towns around there, all less than an hour away. We would definitely stay again if in the area!”

“Nice place. Beds were comfortable and clean. Quiet and quiet, no sounds of cars or people. Had everything we needed. Loved the outdoor eating area and fire pit.But be sure to bring supplies as it is a drive to a store. We stopped in Bangor on the way in. Glad we did. ”

“The setting is beautiful, and so QUIET. A welcome experience after city noise. Our host had truly thought of everything. They know what travelers need. The kayaks were a joy toHave. “We have stayed at the Hobby Horse several times and with each visit, it feels more like our "second home." The cottage is always clean, comfortable and has everything you need in the kitchen. The town of Surry provides a perfect base camp location to enjoy surroundings from Acadia National Park, Ellsworth, Blue Hill and Belfast. This year we attended the Blue Hill Fair and it did not disappoint. A few consistent highlights for us include: Perry's Lobster Company, Pugnuts, Fogtown Brewery……

“We had a great time in this off grid cabin. It was a beautiful location in a really lovely wood cottage. Our favorite part was just relaxing on the screened in porch listening to the loons in the evening. It got a little hot during our stay, so the limited electricity for a fan was a bummer but not a dealbreaker by any means. Would definitely recommend. ”

“Our first time in Maine and picked a perfect place for our stay. The cabin has a real rustic feel with direct access to the pond. We had enjoyed canoeing, paddle boarding and fishing. It is a short drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Also, only 15 minutes from the best cheesecake in Maine, MoMo's in Ellsworth.We cannot say enough about Vacasa customer service. They addressed our request promptly and professionally.”
