“Interesting old hotel in a great location. Interior is a little tired, especially in the rooms, but nice bar and helpful reception staff. We asked to move from the first room we were allocated due to the smell. Staff arranged transfer with minimal fuss and second room great.”

“venue is located on a cross roads of the A49 between Ludlow and Leominster which is a fairly busy junction at many times of day & night. Also located next to a 24hour Asda service station and travel lodge which created vehicle move movements at all times of day & night. We ate in the Salway hotel each night in addition to Breakfast and found the food & service helpful and attentive and the room adequate for our needs. We had been to the hotel previously and found it suitable to our needs.”

“Wonderful business stay, staff so friendly Becky was a lovely and showed me to my room, served a great pint of guiness to, the young lady waitress had a lovely welcoming smile and very tentative, owners Ian & Lyndsey very welcoming and so helpful, definitely recommend the food i had steak pie beautiful. And the full English , all well priced. Room absolutely wonderful Definitely will be staying on business again ”

“The hotel is situated a short walk outside of Ludlow, about 10 minutes walk from the castle and over a stone bridge. The hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable. My room had a view of the castle. A good breakfast was included in the price. The hotel has a bar which was open in the afternoon. There was no lift in the hotel, which is a problem with heavy luggage as I was on the 2nd floor.”

“Lovely clean room - it is over a pub so did not expect complete quiet. Staff were helpful. Outdoor area is more for pub customers but not the end if the world. Lovely river with birds to watch.”

“The Breakfast team are exceptional....food out of this world, one of the best breakfasts you will ever have at a hotel. We are elderly and Olivia was so kind to us during our stay. The pool was wonderful on a hot day. Plenty of beds in the morning and a great escape to the air conditioning in the afternoon. Nicest bunch of people made this a great stay. “The views from the hotel are amazing and the staff are great. The room was very comfortable and had an old style Nespresso machine. Had a nice meal the first night with prompt service. ”

“This property is well located in the centre of town with easy walking distance to the river, cafes and town sites. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinner are very good. The only downside is that rooms are accessed by very steep circular stairs and the car park is accessed by a very tight driveway and limited parking spaces. There is a public car park behind that is easier to access, but Pay and Display during the day. We very much enjoyed our stay in this heritage pub……

“This was a really lovely, quaint pub in a perfect rural setting. The beer garden area captured the sun all day. Breakfast was great. The entrance to use in the evening could be lit up better as it felt unsafe being alone. The cleanliness of the rooms also needs to be reviewed as it let it down. The bed was lovely and comfy with great pillows and fluffy duvet. I would stay again.”
