“The hotel actually has two sections on two sides of the bridge. We were expecting to be on the water side but was disappointed. The room only has a small window facing the back of the hotel. Nothing impressive at all. The staffs were not helpful on anything. We were asked by the front desk to go across the bridge to make booking at the hotel restaurant. ”

“Nights guy was sound. Room was cool. Snall but still had everything you needed. Bathroom was perfect, big bath, easy working shower. Menu for food is limited, so not a place for a meal, for l8ght bites great. Overall really liked this place. ”

“Stay in a working monastery! The buildings and extensive grounds are superb. The grounds and gardens are well tended, and make for an extremely pleasant stroll. The place oozes character and makes a memorable visit. All this on the outskirts of Huddersfield. The rooms are basic but clean. Breakfast is only "continental", offering cereals, muesli, yoghurt, plenty of fresh bread for toast and lots of strong filter coffee. The staff are friendly and welcoming.”

“Perfect for an overnight stay, had everything I needed. Comfy bed, shower, kettle, tea, coffee, fantastic WiFi l. It's quiet location meant I had a great night's sleep.”

“Great welcome and communication by the people running the house, its tucked away in a quiet place with locked and safe parking behind a gate. Rooms were very clean and comfy but I didn't have any food which was kindly on offer so can't comment on that. Very friendly welcome.”

“I had a choice of hotels in Leeds or the Black Horse. I'm so glad I chose the latter. Some extra driving, but great to be in a historic building in a historic area, and so close to the motorway and service station.”

“Nice and easy to find this hotel with loads of parking spaces. The check in is so easy here, numberous tablets and a staff member on standby the help. I checked in late and this was no problem at all. The room was lovely, really comfy bed with different firmness of pillow options. Spacious enough for a chair, a desk and a wardrobe. The lighting was great with many different options. The bathroom had a bath and a powerful rainfall head shower and was also pretty spacious. The self serve breakfast……
