“The hostel is located right at the base of Santa Cruz which made it super easy to grab the lanchas. My friend and I stayed in a private suite which was really nice and cozy. The grounds of the hostel itself are stunning and so relaxing! They host family-style dinner's every night which was so wholesome and was a great way to meet new people. The only cons I will say is that there's only wifi in the common spaces, and wifi doesn't reach the rooms. Other than that, I loved my stay! ”
“Casa Del Mundo is very beautiful and clean. The staff and the manager are very nice and works efficiently with passion. We enjoyed our stay a lot. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for nature, relaxation and great service. It was worth it!”
“The house is dirty, smells humid, dust everywhere, no hot water after 1 minute of shower, no a/c, everything is old and outdated, sheets and towels were stained, it’s in the middle of nowhere in the jungle. We found a scorpion in the bedroom. The only good thing is who manages de property, that service is amazing and will help you get everything organized and scheduled, but the actual property is not at all how it seems in the photos. I definitely do not recommend staying here or would stay……
“We loved our peaceful stay here. It’s clear that the volunteers really care about guest experience - especially Nicole. Christian was also very helpful and kind throughout our stay - an invaluable asset to the hotel. Be warned that if mobility is an issue, you should not stay here as the cabins are hundreds of stairs from the restaurant. But you are rewarded with beautiful views of the lake - which, in our view, was worth it. Dinner was 150q per night, but it was an amazing three course meal -……
“The place is magic. You are smiling during the stay without knowing it. We love the connection with the lake and their people. The amazing staff is another big plus. Congratulations to the owners/ managers for this jewel in Guatemala.”
“Despite the error made on the part of Expedia as far as how many rooms we had reserved, the owner gave us the same discount on the third room. He also was very helpful in providing information about the area - restaurants, swimming holes and hiking trails. The kitchen was available to the guest to use as needed as long as you cleaned up afterwards.”
“You could write a book on all the wonderful things about El Picnic.
Jochen&Gaby have crafted a serene and beautiful experience with some of the most amazing views of Lake Atitlan.
Stellar views, thoughtfully designed rooms, relaxing lounge area, and delicious meals.
It's a glamping experience that provides a great hub for checking out the other lake towns. Easy to get around via tuktuk or the ferry.
Gaby was also so incredibly helpful and always available for any questions, suggestions or……
“This hotel in villas was an oasis of calm a block away from the clamor of the main road. Waking up to Birdsong is one memory I will cherish in this place. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast good too. It’s located about a 10 minute walk from the Atitrans shuttle stop or the Embarcadero, and about 15 minutes from the public beach. I recommend this for anyone thinking of staying in Panajachel.”
“Absolutely beautiful place! The views are simply stunning — you can enjoy breathtaking scenery right from your room. The service was excellent, very attentive and friendly. The entire property is peaceful and quiet — the perfect spot to relax and unwind. I would definitely recommend Casa Palopó to anyone looking for a serene and unforgettable experience.”
