“Lovely farmstay, very close with farm animals, nice hosts !”

“The owners are the only staff there. They don’t clean the room during the stay, an open dog is wandering all around and nobody cared to fasten the dog belt. It does have a pool but u will have to gain the owner’s permission in order to use it, hence it’s more like a decoration. 3 rooms share a lobby which is the only access to a fridge. Strongly don’t suggest any Asian fellows to stay. ”

“Had a one night stay following a trip to Hobbiton movie set. Stayed in chalet Frodo which is only a 10-15 min drive from Hobbiton.The chalet is very clean and well appointed. While quite compact it had everything the two of us required for an overnight stay. We had dinner at Osteria restaurant in the main centre which is only a 3 min drive away. Thoroughly recommend Osteria for quality of food, portion size , atmosphere and price”

“Maria was fantastic and incredibly friendly. The place was comfortable and clean. Getting to feed the alpacas was a huge plus!”

“Utterly stunning and well appointed home. The veiw was stunning, both the hills and the animals right at our doorstep. If we weren't already booked somewhere else further south i would have happily continued my whole stay in New Zealand there.It was super easy checking in and folder of surrounding activities was fabulously helpful to fill a day we hadnt decided on yet. Would happily return for another stay”

“This is a very perfect mansion which is both classic and modern. I’m surprised that even the towels are put on a heating rack. We love the food a lot, both dinner and breakfast. Fresh ingredients and nicely cooked by the host! Host is very nice and introduced us to sheep feeding. Thanks for lending us a HDMI cable as well since our laptop’s monitor is not functioning well and we need to connect it to the TV.”

“The property was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our 4 day stay. It was also quiet, apart fro the trucks on the main road, but this was expected. We were within a short walking distance into the main town area which was very handy for restaurants. It was a great central place to stay. Wed definitely stay again if we return to Matamata. ”

“We arrived at this cute home after 24 hours of travel. We were so exhausted and were going to go out to dinner but had zero energy. We realized the owner had left us some staple groceries including a loaf of bread, and jelly. I had packed a tub of peanut butter and some chips in my luggage so we had the best PBJs and relaxed! Bonus there was even a bottle of wine in the fridge :) The view around the back was spectacular.”
