“Stayed for one night on the way home with the family. Lovely place, very clean and welcoming. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Just a few minutes walk from the Downs. Beds were very comfortable and the shower room was spotless. ”

“I found the hotel perfect for a short stay in Torquay. Only a 10 minute walk to the seafront and free parking just outside the entrance. I had a lovely cooked breakfast every morning with some extra treats. Really friendly place and I'm going back there in the summer. I'm using the hotel as a base to meet my friends who return to Torquay twice a year.”

“WE WERE MADE WELCOME RIGHT FROM THE START,LETTING US BOOK IN EARLY(08.00 AM)RESERVING US A PARKING PLACE IN THE FRONT OF THE HOTEL.WE WERE GIVEN HELP TO UNLOAD AND TAKE OUR LUGGAGE TO THE ROOM.OUR ROOM WAS HUGE AND VERY WELL KEPT,ALL AMMENITIES WERE ON HAND, THE ON SUITE BATHROOOM WAS ALSO VERY BIG AND BEING DISABLED THIS MADE IT MUCH EASIER FOR US BOTH IN THE BATHROOM AND THE ROOM ITSELF,HELP WAS ALWAYS AT HAND WHEN WE CAME IN OR GOING OUT MAKING SURE THEY HELPED US WITH THE COUPLE OF STAIRS WE……

“Check in was quick and easy. Room was sooooo hot due to all glass fronted room which had been in direct sunlight all day with the curtains open. Asked for another room which was provided without fuss. 5 min walk (max) to beach & bars, harbour & marina about 10 mins away.”

“Arrived and greeted by the most incredibly kind staff. They really couldnt have given us any more to make us feel welcome. Want to give a huge thanks to Robin on reception. My husband has a neck injury and the staff even offered to get pain medications from the local Pharmacist for us. The food in 1881 resturant within the grand hotel was delicious and served by Felix. What a kind gentleman he was also. Even making my young boy happy by giving him free mocktails! Both inside and outsoor pools……

“The first room we were given was not up to 3 star standard. We contacted reception the next morning and they were very considerate and we were offered an alternative room that was more acceptable. The location, food and the staff were excellent. We hope to return.”

“Didnt really need to leave the hotel grounds. Everything you need! Spa, pool, games room and plenty of bars and restaurants. Humble entertainment in the evenings. Lovely relaxing spa and we had an apartment which had also had a small kitchen if you wanted to cook yourself. Brilliant stay - for a family of 5 ages 39 -8 👍”

“Ignore the bad reviews. This is the second year running I’ve came here with my children. The hotel is clean and the staff are really polite and helpful it’s cheaper than the other hotels in the area as it’s being refurbished the rooms are decent and lovely views if you get a sea room. ”
