“This is a beautiful hotel with wonderful staff. Sure, the building itself is looking a little tired, but it has some stunning features in the public areas. Every member of staff is so friendly and helpful. Breakfast has plenty of choice, and the evening meals we had were superb. Our room had a fridge and a safe. As a woman, I also appreciated the magnifying mirror in the bathroom.”

“Fabulous adults only property with stunning spa facilities. Excellent food, reasonable bar prices and friendly staff. We did ask to move rooms and (loud dripping from drainpipes just outside the room which was very annoying given the pouring rain) this was accommodated immediately. Nice to park in the hotel grounds, but £15 per day is a little excessive, although appreciate it is secure and monitored. Heated towel rail in the bathroom is way too small to accommodate bath towels and spa towel,……

“The staff are extremely friendly and the grounds are amazing to walk around. Absolutely beautiful and well kept building situated in a lovely part of Devon. Well worth to see well worth taking part two for a romantic time away.”

“Although going though some refurbishment the property feels tired and stuck in a different era. Room was, once we found it, clean and spacious, only issue the strong smell coming from the bathroom which was resolved quickly by running the taps for a while.”

“We had a very enjoyable albeit brief stay. The beds are comfortable, the vegetarian breakfast was delicious. The room was very clean, our daughter has a dust allergy and she was absolutely fine. Catharine and Chris are excellent hosts.”
