The room was comfortable and spacious although the bathroom is perhaps a little dated now and the shower quite a squeeze (even for a size 12 woman) but having a bath was much appreciated. Our evening meal was good, though not exceptional but nothing to complain about. We were disappointed that the answer to our question as to whether we could have porridge without salt was a very firm 'no' but it was a nice……

“We stayed at the Golden Lion with friends as we were walking the 3 peaks on the Friday, we both stayed in a classic room, the rooms were lovely, comfy bed, hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner, tea and coffee and bottled water, don't forget to ask for milk before bed. We ate in the restaurant both nights, the food was lovely and we had great service. We had asked for breakfast the morning of our walk as we had to leave at half 6, unfortunately they forgot to leave out any bread or bowls for……
