It was on the rainforest side, which gave us a wonderful "off the beaten path" experience and It was directly across from kahena beach, which is a nude beach so be mindful of that before bringing your kids and making the nude people uncomfortable ( watched this happen). “Such a cozy home. Definitely recommend the nearby Shipman Beach (hike through 2 miles of blessed shade to such a beautiful spot!)”

“A luxurious camping experience with running hot water, electricity, and use of a washer/dryer. Not many places to eat around and the closest "grocery store" is very expensive (12 for a gallon of milk). Make sure you plan ahead and bring mosquito repellent!! ”

“Truly a delightful experience. I was having work done on my home, so we stayed here for two weeks of fun! It was tranquil, clean, comfortable. A nice bathtub with plenty of toiletries. You may not see it in the pics, but they provide all the kitchen appliances/flatware you might need. Lots of lush greenery right up against the lava rock fields right up against the ocean. Plenty to explore. The WiFi was awesome. We were able to run both our VR headsets at the same time, I was able to work……

“This is a beautiful place and quite clean. They also have a cache of masks, snorkel, chairs and other beach items which is helpful. We used this cottage as base camp to visit Volcanoes NP. It is a good option if you have a rental car. They don't call it the "Big Island" for nothing. There is a lot of windshield time when traveling the area. My only constructive criticism of this property, as well as almost all other VRBOs, is to reduce the unnecessary furniture, bookshelves, and tchotchkes that……

“I had the privilege of staying at this property for one month. I will miss it! Especially the sound of the ocean which can be heard from this cute cottage. The bed is comfortable and I slept so great here. Also, it's QUIET! If you want peace, you found it. The shower is hot with strong water pressure. The mini fridge (with small freezer) met my needs perfectly. The host is so kind and made sure I felt comfortable asking for anything I needed. Checking in was a breeze. I parked and was able to……

“Though this property intentionally lacked amenities that large, resort like properties provide, it hit the mark in what was promised: a quiet, intimate experience that is close to nature and the nighttime sky! “We enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage that had everything we needed (including beach chairs, umbrella and cooler!). The owner was super helpful and kind in making sure everything was perfect for us. We love staying south of Hilo where we have more access to the Paradise Cliffs and morning dawn hikes along this magnificent coastline. Groceries, stores, restaurants, markets are all easily available, too. It's also an easy drive into Hilo, as well. We had a wonderful time!”

“Cons: no hot water in the shower or house. At all. Ran ONLY the hot water line & never got hot water. Hubby bathed in kitchen sink with water from tea kettle. No privacy. At all. Other houses can be seen clearly from all windows & shower of this house. That deck? It's for anyone to use & anyone on it can look right down into your shower. A house up the hill can be clearly seen from shower which means they can clearly see you in the shower. We bought 50ft clothesline and 2 shower curtains from……

“The communication with our host was fantastic and they were very responsive and accommodating. The cabin itself was also clean and had everything we needed. My only challenges with it was the mattress, which wasnt very comfortable for sleeping and the size of the cabin was a bit too small for our family of four.”
