“The hotel is part of a historic inn which was very atmospheric. We stayed in a family room for 3 people and the room was warm and cosy and welcoming as we arrived just before 9pm and it was a bit chilly in the countryside. Breakfast was excellent and in a nice dining room in a genuine rural setting. Service was friendly & excellent.”

“Easy to find,short(ish) walk into town,quiet hotel (at least where we slept)nice breakfast facilities a "help yourself" didn't have an evening meal as we ate in town (plenty to choose from)if you didn't want a drink in the hotel bar there's a pub across the road "The Tollgate" plenty of outside seating and food available.A pleasant stay for our weekend.”
“The area was lovely, we walked around and explored the park and streets alike. We hadn’t realised the dads army connection, which was a lovely discovery.
Unfortunately at night we were disturbed by loud noises from people nearby the property and obviously outside of your control.”

They provided great service and every meal was delicious. The Thomas Paine Museum was of special interest and full of information for this history buff. We cant wait to book our next trip.”
