“Quinta da Barroca is an excellent place for a relaxed family time in Douro or for an event. It lacks some maintenance or improvement in some things (such as the children's park and the sauna/jacuzzi), but the houses and the scenery are great. Breakfast could have some more variety, but it's good enough, the fruit is excellent, apples right from the tree ”

“A wonderful stay. We enjoyed the quiet vineyard setting with the amazing views. The hospitality and care shown by Mafalda and Francisco was lovely. We felt right at home. The breakfast was delicious. Other meals were enjoyed at the cafes/restaurants 1.2km away. We look forward to coming back soon. TIP: come for Easter Sunday when there is a nighttime candlelit procession down to the lower town while fireworks are going. Fantastic! ”

“They gave us a wrong room with shared bathroom so we had to stay for one night not two, no staff at night or at check in. Other rooms are great and good people. Need a refund for the cancelled night. ”

Excellent stay at this trendy hotel

"I really liked the modern design in an heritage building. Stayed in the studio for four nights and it has a kitchen with everything you need. The team is amazing, gave me really good trendy restaurants recommendations. They are also very helpful and responsive when you asked them questions on WhatsApp. The restaurant Santa Joana and the bar Spiritland were amazing. Great design, food and amazing friendly team. Great vibes overall and would stay again. "

"Excellent location and cleanliness. Much better if staff has more compassionate at work. Suggest the staff at counter preparing omelette can make sunny eggs also, instead saying no but asking them to get them on plates but actually none instead, and collect city tax upon checking-in rather than checking out to expedite the process. "
