“Wir haben ein altes, typisches azorisches Landhaus erwartet und es auch bekommen. Die Ausstattung war entsprechend. Wer Luxus und Komfort erwartet, wird enttäuscht. Wer aber die typisch ländliche Atmosphäre in einem idyllisch gelegener Umgebung sucht, der fühlt sich hier wohl. Der das Haus umgebende Garten ist schon alleine ein Erlebnis. “Paulo, the owner, was very attentive and friendly and gave us wonderful service. We were late for check-in and Paulo greeted us after 11pm with a big smile. He gave us all the information we needed, including tips on Portuguese cuisine. The property consists of an old Portuguese house, from the 1800s. It is charming, clean, and has everything we needed for a good night's sleep.”

“Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt. Geräumiges Haus, sauber und tolle Aussicht auf das Meer. Leider nur ein Handtuch pro Badezimmer und ein Duschtuch pro Person. Wenig Tassen und Teller für 5 Personen. Sehr kleine Geschirrspülmaschine. Der beheizte Pool hatte leider nur 15 Grad. Seit Oktober 2024 wird auch eine Kurtaxe in Höhe von 2,- Euro pro Tag und Person erhoben. Maximal für 7 Tage. Das waren für uns 70,- Euro. Das wurde uns leider erst 3 Tage vor Ankunft mitgeteilt. Das sind alles……

“À notre arrivée, une femme qui je pense est la femme de ménage nous a donné la clé. Pas d'explication, à peine bonjour, pas de contact avec l'hôte. Nous avons trouvé une maison froide humide et très sombre. La cuisine n'a qu'une lumière et de fait n'éclaire pas la plaque de cuisson. Nous avons signalé ce problème mais personne n'est venu. Vis à vis avec ce qui semble être les propriétaires, voitures dans la cour n'aidant pas à la manœuvre, pas de VMC permettant d'évacuer l'humidité... Bref,……

Antonio came up to greet us after we had settled in to drop off some coffee pods ,he had left a wonderful bottle of wine and fresh pastries for us.He is a great communicator, always guick to get back to us, and had supplied multiple suggestions for places to eat,places to see and where to shop. We used his place as a base to travel the area. Lots to see from old castles, Roman ruins, to a mine tour and of course the beautiful coastal areas. ……

“It was a lovely, clean house with everything one could need. The owner was always quick to respond to any questions I had. Outside of the city, so you will definitely need a car. But Caldas da Rainha and Óbidos are a conveniently nearby. It also has a spacious, well fenced yard that kept my escape artist dog safe. I highly recommend it.”
