“Hotel was very ornate and a beautiful setting for a wedding. A bit dated and worn in areas but that makes it charming. Too warm in the bedroom and couldn’t turn the bathroom radiator off which provided all the heat. Bed was comfy. Carpets needed to be cleaned. Gym had very basic and minimal equipment and floors were dirty and looked to have not been cleaned for while. Reception staff very friendly and welcoming. ”

“Value for money. Yes it’s on the A1 but don’t let that bother you. Inside you can’t hear a thing and all bedrooms are on the opposite side and overlooking the fields to Banburgh Castle and the frame isles lighthouse. The property is in a convenient position to get to many places. Such as the Castle, Holy island, Seahouses and Berwick on Tweed. Good is excellent and the staff are great and friendly. Thanks ”

“Great B&B and the room is seperate from the house , lovely room very clean and tidy also lovely bathroom with complimentary toilitries everything you need coffe machine, kettle complimentary tea and coffee also with few extra nice snacks bottle water, bar chocolate, crisps very comfortable bed also had black out blinds perfect the staff all very friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast was absolutely lovely and on one of the mornings we were leaving early so the owners brought us some……

“Great place to stay, with lots of character, especially maritime related. Staff were amazing, very friendly and welcoming. We had an issue with our bathroom and the staff attended to our needs immediately. Fabulous food, the standard and quality was high end at affordable prices. Would definitely visit Seahouses again, and stay at The Olde Ship Inn. Would recommend to others.”

“If you are someone who wants to walk around a busy village, here may not be the best place for you however many places like alnwick centre are only at 20 minute drive. the rest of the property as immaculate as well as the service we experienced.”

“Lovely pub with rooms. Friendly staff, big and comfortable rooms with nice decor (quite recently redecorated by the look of it), good bathroom, excellent breakfasts! Perfect spot for a stay in Rothbury. ”

“It was a pleasant stay after visiting Alnwick Gardens. The room was about average size but walk up on third floor. The room was clean and as usual air conditioning was provided by opening the window. Parking is available but not for the faint of heart if you are not used to driving in the UK. Would consider staying there again if we are ever in the area.”
