“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Avon Court Lodge. Our host was friendly and helpful giving us a map of the area and recommending things to see and where to go for dinner. . We particularly enjoyed the scenic walk to the town. The room was and bathroom were spotlessly cleaned. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and was delicious. We would highly recommend a stay here. ”

“We stayed here for 4 nights and booked a luxury room. Our mistake for not reading the property details as there was no air-con and it was very uncomfortable during the nights without this as we ended up with quite warm weather which was a bonus for the days that we did stay. When we arrived and checked in we noticed that the door was not closing properly which was resolved straight away and dirty mugs had been left there too, again this was resolved straight away but no apology for this. “From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we had nothing but friendly attentive service from the staff at the pub. We were fortunate to be upgraded from a room in the pub to one of the relatively new lodges. The lodge was immaculate on arrival and very comfortable and well equipped. We had breakfast included and this was first class with locally sourced food included. We had two evening dinners at the pub and both were excellent from the very varied menu on offer. ”

“We enjoyed meeting all Staff and found everyone really helpful and friendly. Lovely room, very comfortable. Nice lounge areas too and no dogs. The only thing we found challenging was that the menu for the evening meals didn't change. After two nights, we were lucky that a BBQ had been organised so we could order that for a change. Unfortunately, the BBQ finished at 5pm which was rather early for an evening meal. ”

“The room was as expected. Good location and views. Had researched this so knew parking was nearby which was fine. Obviously recently refurbished but it must have been on a tight budget. Everything seemed to be done cheaply and not very well. Disappointed that the decor didn’t do justice to such a historic building ”
