“We needed to book in early and after a phone call to them it was not a problem. Absolutely spotless room and bathroom cleaner than most 4* hotels, easy parking . Everything you could need and at half the price of those nearer Beamish or wedding venues. staff warm and welcoming , well done Hotel 52.”

“Our stay at Burnhopeside Hall was one of our most memorable ever. Christine, our hostess, was delightful and helpful. The room was spacious and the surroundings could not have been more grand. This is a stately old home, full of beautiful furniture and dishes, near sheep pastures and the river. While there, we walked the yard and fields behind the house, went down to the river, accompanied by Barney and Spencer (the Burnhopeside dogs!). Breakfast was delicious and elegantly presented. “Fantastic hotel, beautiful room with gorgeous touches such as Molten Brown toiletries. Lovely view from room, a lovely welcome from start to finish. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back. ”

“Overall everything was good, our only issue was after being there for a few days we noticed the toaster was full of crumbs, obviously not been emptied for quite some time, and the oven tray had not been cleaned after it had been used. We hadn’t met the owner, so decided it was easier just to clean them both before using them. On the hole, everything else was excellent. There was no recycling facilities, which was quite a surprise, and also a slight disappointment. Everything else was above……

“Very nice overall. only 5 min from Beamish and 15 min walk through the woods to the lovely Causey Arch. Staff very friendly and helpful. Couple of bits a little bit tired but acceptable. Breakfast a little limited but you can always find something from the continental side. Evening meals were excellent, we stopped two nights and dined both times and every meal had a wow factor.
