“The host is not staying in the property and need to wait for 15 mins at the front door for him coming back for entry. The host left some basic stuff like bread and cereal for the guests. It is basically not a BnB.”

“They provided a breakfast that was excellent. Scrambled egg and bacon were great. The coffee machine was amazing although I made a bit of a mess until I figured it out. The one bad thing is that it has a few steps between the rooms as the building terraces down a gradual slope. If you are older with heavy bags I can imagine it would be a struggle. The staff helped us carry our bags up. The rooms were big and comfortable although modest and a little worn. Nothing fancy but great value. ……

“It's renovating the while first floor lodge. All travellers, no matter how old you are, ust live at the 2nd floor rooms. But this lodge should mention this serious weakness clearly online, otherwise elder travellers have burden to climb up and move heavy luggage. Besides, no elder freindly suport facility in the bathroom. There is no tissue paper, only providing toilet paper instead. Tea tray provides low quality twa bags and maybe over the deadline, after pouring hot water there's not clear……

“quite old property, very dated exterior, public area not exactly appealling; bit sad, needs huge upgrafing; however, staff very attentive, professional, gd communicator, we drove 5 hours from New Plymouth, arrivaed at reception and hour prior to check in time; since a room is ready, we could check in, great courtesy room 12 we stayed, no hot water! possibly an oversight; room is tidy, minimalistic which appeals to us; very thoroughly cleaned; bedding, pillows comfly, often with old property and……

“Good things : near the downtown, comfortable shower and clean bathroom Things to improve : super tiny room with only one moldy chair/TV/refrigerator which not worth the charge, hair and insects are found in bed, basic breakfast with toast/milk/tea bags, walls too thin that it's super noisy when other guests walk along corridor and get the shower - you can hear everything!!!! Overall not a good stay”
