“This was probably the weirdest hotel experience in my life. The huge manor has been converted to a hotel but has been neglected recently (including a time housing asylum seekers - Google it). The time around 10 of the 100+ rooms are being used so you “rattle around” especially when you’re the only guests!! “The room was spacious & comfortable. Bed very comfortable. Bathroom sink could have been cleaned better, but the rest of it was clean. It would have been better if we could have had breakfast there & the outside garden was available to sit in. All the staff were excellent & we would stay again.”

“The hotel was in the perfect location for the rail station, which was the reason for booking. The hotel was adequate in regards to their facilities, and the owner was very friendly, which is always a plus. The room was small, but fine for an overnight stay. It was a little bit musty in smell, though probably just needed airing a little bit more. Breakfast was reasonable and I was accommodated for allergies and preference. ”

“We had a nice stay but sadly my partner and I were awoken at 7am by someone using a loud garden strimmer. Called the front desk to see if trimming the grass could be delayed and was told the person doing it would be moved to a different area to give us some peace and quiet, but the person kept strimming near us anyway. Bit of a shame as we'd had a late night and were looking forward to a lie in. The room was very nice though. Whilst dinner was nothing to write home about, the breakfast was……
