“We had a great time. The manager was very responsive to communication. We were upgraded to a bigger cabin due to frozen pipes in our original cabin (they got hit with extreme weather). Place was very clean and the bee decorations were very cute. Hot tub was great. Location was easy to find and within 15 minutes of food/stores. Will definitely come back again. ”

“The home was in a quiet neighborhood with a circular road that allowed for walking. We took our dog with us and she loved it! The cottage was perfect for two people and a large dog. We enjoyed the nearby dining and shopping and hanging out by the fireplace. It was too chilly to use the outdoor fire pit but would be great in milder weather. The screen porch has a lot of seating also. So perfect ! ”

“This was a great little getaway for my family from the holiday hassles. The cozy guest suite was awesome! The suite was close enough to all the necessities but still far enough away to make it feel like you could vanish into the hills. This area was gorgeous, you are situated in the balds or highlands of NC. The weather was rainy and chilly for the first day we visited but the fog rolling down the balds was eerily beautiful. Waynesville has quickly become one of our favorite towns to visit and……

“The location is beautiful. The house was clean. kayaking and canoeing on the lake was amazing. Also rented a boat one morning to tour the tree beautiful waterfalls on the lake. The only issue would have been parking, however the owner was very accommodating. It's best if your able to park your vehicle inside the garage. Great lake front location with beautiful towns nearby.”

“A small but well equipped cabin at the end of a private road. A deck with table and chairs expands the living space. Very quiet location behind the owners house. There is a fenced in yard at this cabin perfect for a dog to explore. There is a barn and fenced area for the two horses. A large section of the pasture has reverted to natural plantings which attract a variety of birds. The road to the cabin runs along the pasture providing viewing and photographing opportunities. “The Treehouse Suite at The Calhoun House is a great property. This particular suite is located in a separate building from the other suites, which was ideal for us, as we had our baby and toddler with us. We did not worry about disturbing other guests if he cried or was a little loud. Edward was amazing as we checked in. He had some food essentials in the refrigerator and had some scrumptious treats from the local bakery. The suite was well stocked with toiletries and kitchen supplies and was……

“Our week in Highlands was so enjoyable and Foxglove Flat, although rustic on the outside, is a beautiful space to call home. It was absolutely spotless, comfortable and easy access for my husband with his mobility issues. The kitchen is well equipped with anything you need to cook. Multiple coffee making options was nice. I was impressed with the quick response I had regarding the shower (operator error on my part) and the notification that bad weather was on its way. We would not hesitate to……

“So, I booked our room back in September, October of 2021. Between then and when our trip was, the property changed owners. Apparently, there was a bit of a mixup with the booking and the whole lodge was booked for a reunion. We get there to check in, and not only do they still accommodate us, despite the mixup, they gave us an upgrade for no extra charge. We were staying for our anniversary and were absolutely thrilled with everything. We will definitely visit again in the future.”
