“Shower room very small, would be helpful to have instructions on use of shower, also would be helpful if we knew we could use cutlery and plates on arrival But very lovely continental breakfast and staff were helpful and friendly ”

“A friend and I stayed for two nights on Bank Holiday. The welcome was friendly, everything worked and the service was excellent. The decor in the main house was rather tired butwas adequate and the room price reflected this.The food was good and the beds comfortable.”

(Although the patios and tables in the Croquet rooms, could do with attention)The staff are exceptional, with every individual staff member reacting promptly, to our requests. “The bed was comfortable. The pillow was firm. The room and bathroom were big. The only issue was noise. We stayed on Sat night and you could hear people outside in the square in the early hours. The floorboards were noisy and you could occasionally hear people talking in the corridor outside the room”

“On arrival, we were met by the receptionist, who was very pleasant and extremely helpful showing us where to store our bikes and making recommendations for local restaurants. Our room was large and well-appointed. The hotel is housed in a large old stone building. Yes, it looks tiring in places but nothing to spoil your stay. Breakfast was good, maybe a better choice of fresh fruit but that is being picky. I will definately be returning to this hotel”

“Nicely furnished room, comfortable bed and excellent shower. All staff friendly and accommodating. Wide range of dining options for dinner, breakfast a great spread available and recommend the breakfast bap. Tiny minus point, my wife’s eggs Benedict had overdone eggs. Would definitely revisit. ”
