“I arrived at The Grainger hotel with apprehensive feelings,after reading the reviews.I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw when I walked into the property.My room wasn't ready when i arrived,but to be fair i was quite a bit early.I only had to wait half an hour.The room was quite small but was very adequate for my accommodation needs.The room was clean and tidy and the staff were really helpful too.I will definitely be back ”

“Booked last minute as we needed to break our journey. Arrived at 20.30 hrs. Staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. As food was only served till 9pm we put our bags in the room and came down for some food. The menu looked good and what we ordered didnt dissapoint. I especially loved the chips qhich were treble cooked. Our room was clean and fairly basic, in a nice sort of way. “Stayed here for a wedding in nearby Morpeth and was well impressed. The owner and her family were superb hosts, and nothing wax too much trouble. Breakfast superb, rooms clean and comfy, and 72 free parking round the back of the property make it a great base for a long weekend to explore the area. Would happily return!”

“The George Hotel is a wonderful place and one that I will remember well. It's near to Hadrian's Wall and many other old Roman sites to explore. The George Hotel has a charm that countryside adventurers will love. Hikers from the wall come and go and share their stories. That bridge and the river provide a scene that you will remember. Although there is no lift, we found out that the room was easily accessible from the upper parking spaces. Staff was super friendly. The food was excellent……
