“Warm, friendly welcome by the owner. As it turned out, we were the only visitors staying in the hotel, so had a nice opportunity for a chat over a beer - well stocked with what appeared to be the full range of bottled beers from Purple Moose Brewery of Porthmadog. “Nice and friendly welcome and on arrival impressed with the bedroom however on checking bedding a dried blood stain on the fitted sheet which was clear to see and in clear view (must have been seen when making the bed up) and also a dirty stained pillowcase was evident. Reception informed and immediately resolved the issue. They also offered a free drink as an apology. “Nice hotel, and the most popular venue in Dolgellau. Ensure you arrange your evening meal before 8pm, as everything stops serving early (out of season), including the hotel. Was extremely disappointing to be left with just a kebab shop at 8:20pm, with absolutely no alternatives. Town has some nice eateries, but everything shuts early and it feels like a ghost town by 9pm. ”

“The room is clean and comfortable, but the WiFi signal is very weak, and usually disconnected... The hotel is very near to Harlech Castle, just 3 minute walking distance, but it also means that the hotel situates on the hill as well... “Glamping pod was ok but not as advertised. It stated private shower/bathroom which is why we booked. To our disappointment on arrival it was communal showers and toilet.”

“The hotel was lovely; the rooms were very well appointed and comfortable. It was very quiet and relaxing. The common rooms were very nice and welcoming. The staff was professional, gracious and friendly. We spent a lovely cocktail hour in the lounge and enjoyed delicious custom cocktails. Dinner and breakfast were first rate! Local foods, creatively prepared. We went for an afternoon hike along the canal, which was easy to access from the property. Highly recommend this property.”

“Clean and comfortable. We were able to park on the street right outside the hotel. It doesn’t have its own parking area. The problem was I didn’t realize it had a shared bathroom…it taught me a lesson to ensure future bookings are en-suite.”
