“I have stayed at the Monte Carlo for over 20 years and they have always looked after my needs with great care and compassion. The hotel is set in a wonderful position in the town ( not the soulless hotel zone) overlooking the sea and mountains. It’s a period hotel, with tremendous charm with a pool on the roof at a certain price point. We visited in April 2024 and the staff were fabulous and the stay in Madeira a joy. “Due to our flight being delayed we arrived at the hotel later than planned. This was however not a problem as the owner had sent us a message previously telling us how to use the key safe to collect our keys. Our first floor room was very comfortable and the view from the balcony was wonderful. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room which was a shame but the mini fridge was very handy.
