“We had a one night stay for a meeting in the region. The hotel is not near to any other Pubs so you are rather captive, it has a nice garden terrace area next to the river, this is very pleasant in warm weather. We were however very disappointed that despite being residents we were not allowed to use this unless eating. A bizarre rule.”

“The staff are so lovely hear, it doesnt feel souless or impersonal as some places can. The rooms are clean and comfortable and I feel very welcome.”

“Bedding and towels were clean and good quality. The room was clean if decoratively tired. The area outside the window was untidy, I don't think all guests avoided smoking.”

“The hotel is in a very picturesque setting in rural Chenies. We had a spacious, spotless room and a large ensuite bathroom with shower. Everything was in good condition and the sheets and towels were of excellent quality. Having a fridge was also very useful. The evening meal was tasty, though the choices were limited, as there had been problems with deliveries. The full English breakfast the next morning was plentiful and delicious. “Unser Zimmer war sehr niedlich und sauber. Es gab einen hochmodernen Kühlschrank und ein winziges Wellnessbad. Dazu eine Kapselkaffeemaschine und Gin zur Begrüßung. ”

“Staff were very good, we arrived quite late at night because of the train mishap. It was raining and cold, we were made welcome and shown to rooms until we were happy with the choice!, room was warm clean and tidy. Breakfast was great lunch was delicious. A wonderful memorable stay will go again definitely!”

“Pros: Great location if you’re visiting / doing business in Ampthill. Great food and drinks downstairs. The staff were always friendly, helpful and welcoming. Cons: no on premise parking. Closest parking is a municipal lot…10 pounds for 24 hours. When I checked in my room was made up as 2 singles instead of a double as requested. Beds were a tad small & uncomfortable. Walls are thin, I could hear my neighbors “chatting” until midnight the night before I was planning on checking out. Otherwise……
