“The place is an ancient inn in a wonderful spot of the countryside. Perfect for trips along Hadrian's wall or nice walks in the fields. No restaurants in the area except the inn's one, where it's possibile to eat until 8.30 pm. Excellent beer until late. The toilet area is really tiny, but the rooms are lovely.”

“A last-minute decision for us to stay having booked to eat in the restaurant and we weren't disappointed. Our room was spotlessly clean and more spacious than expected. We needed to look for someone in order to check in but in all other respects the staff were very welcoming and attentive.”

“This could be a fantastic hotel but unfortunately the facilities are very lacking. This hotel doesn’t serve lunch or evening meals as they don’t have a chef yet. As this place is a bit out of the way it wasn’t what we were expecting. We had paid for 2 nights but left after 1. We booked a deluxe room with garden view. Deluxe it definitely was not. The shower cubicle had the previous guest hair on the walls. Not for us and we wouldn’t return. Could be a fabulous place. Hats off to the guy running……
