“The property was of an ideal size for us and our 15 months baby. It is very quite, surrounded by fruit trees orchards and farm fields. Despite arriving later than expected, Steve was present to welcome us and brief us on the house an surroundings. The cottage is in good condition, especially the kitchen and bathroom that look almost new. The kitchen is very well equipped. We even had the pleasant surprise of finding fresh milk, local apple juice and cross buns which were great for our first……

“We (six adults and three small kids) enjoyed a fantastic stay at the cottage. Good amenities in the cottage, ample space for sleeping, playing and eating and great surroundings. An ideal place for a family outing.”

“The flat is just as pictured. The kitchen is well equipped, beds are comfortable, and it was spotlessly cleaned. There is some street noise, but that will be the case anywhere in the city center. I only mention it so I can share the tip to bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Communication with Deborah was fast and smooth. The location is perfect—a few minutes walk to anywhere in the city center. Highly recommend.”

The cottage was just perfect for what we needed and loved the bbq and fire pit for us to do ourselves, very quiet and is so isolated for location, you could hear a pin drop. Lovely hosts also that showed us around, very friendly and book with all local information and contact information if we needed any help also! “The Old Schoolroom is restored with much care and taste resulting in a very comfortable cottage. There are lots of public footpaths to explore when stepping out the door and beaches and Canterbury are within a short drive through the very beautiful landscape. The hosts are very friendly and everybody seems to be raving about the welcome tray and fresh cut flowers... and they are right to :-)”

“Great location, easy to get to Canterbury, Margate and Dover. Wonderful historical building, with a host who helped us when we got lost (😂 it was way easier than we made it seem!) as well as giving the goods in regards to their pub recommendation. We had an amazing meal! Also helpful, kind hearted touchea such as washing pods, a teapot AND a kettle to brew a tea as you wonder at the view. ”

“Cosy cottage surrounded by fields and woodland, much of which you can walk through via public footpaths. Very clean and tidy. SUPER soft and comfy bed and bedding. Good, modern kitchen and bathroom amenities, everything you need for a self-catering stay. There’s a little private garden area where you can sit and enjoy a cup of tea in the morning while listening to the bird song - you might even spot a bunny from the living room window! Great location for exploring Canterbury and the Kent coast.……

Lovely, Clean, New Hotel with a rich history

"The hotel has recently been refurbished but still has the ‘old’ side which you can select the room for stay if you are interested in this historic experience. Those rooms will be available for cheaper prices as well. I chose to stay at the ‘newer’ side for my accommodation this time as they are usually more comfortable for a good night sleep. I was correct and the room looks amazing and spacious too! What a wonderful refurbishment with great designs. Staff were also very helpful and friendly with the hospitality service. Their breakfast or dining area seems lovely although I took it outside instead as there’s so much to do and eat outside the hotel as well. I would loved to stay here once again if I come round for a visit once again. "
