“Very early days for this establishment. Very friendly and pleasant staff, who really try to please. Great curry on our first night, however very limited choice for our non-curry lover, so had to find alternative dining options. We found that the Windmill was lovely, and only a couple of miles down the road! Somewhere to hang your clothes in the rooms would be useful. Great, large, hot shower. Breakfast each morning set us up for the day. It will be a lovely place once the teething problems have……

“We stayed 2 nights in a 2nd floor room over looking the courtyard. The staff were all very welcoming & friendly. The breakfast had a good variety, nice and hot & cooked well which is not always the case for buffet style breakfasts. The location is good for the Peak District. Plenty of parking & although due to weather we were not able to enjoy it, the outside area was very pretty. The bathroom could benefit from a little work. Overall Good Location, welcome staff, excellent breakfast.”

“We had a great stay at this historic hotel. Check in/check out was smooth. Great breakfast selection with hearty portion. Room is clean and bed is just the right firmness that you can wake up rejuvenated without backache. We also like how they stock plenty of welcome drinks and snacks in room to give us coziness to wind down in the cool weather.”

“Just a brief overnight on a business trip. Lovely character building. Decent size free car park. Single room was pleasant and comfortable. Location is in the town, so inevitably some traffic noise specially early morning. Take earplugs if that tends to disturb you. Very friendly staff and good breakfast available from 7am, which was handy as I was travelling further on for a meeting. Highly competitive b&b rate.”

“Last minute booking, so not much time researching. Room was small but clean, tea and coffee making facilities. Shower was good and. Could not hear the live band that was playing, but had some noise off the street. Would have scored more but the staff were a bit rude when I asked for extra pots of milk. Good location, only on street parking. ”
