“This was a really cool hotel. We stayed here on Valentine’s Day because we went to a show in the Walker theater and it was close by. I love the retro design. We had the tiki suite and it had a sitting area with a fireplace and it was so nice to sit by the fire after we’d been out walking in the cold. If you’re looking for something with a cool vibe and a lot of character, give this place a look. ”

“What's great: The location is right at one end of the Walnut Street pedestrian bridge. Unfortunately, the bridge is closed until late 2026, and the hotel does not mention this on their website. Boo! Nonetheless, it's only a few blocks downhill to the aquarium, and a short climb over a cool overpass to the Hunter Museum. Lots of local artwork. Some of it is pretty good. The sheets. The view. The 2 of the 3 remote contolled window blinds in the accessible suite were inoperable, limiting the light in the room even more.
