“Great staff, bar was packed on arrival but we were checked in to our room straight away. Far too busy & noisy to eat in the bar, so they opened the restaurant for us and another couple so that we could eat in peace. Despite the number of customers we were served quickly and efficiently. Very good food. Room was a bit tired, flaking paint and in need of a bit of updating but the bed was comfortable and the room reasonably quiet even though on a main street. Good location just on the edge of the……

“Very nice hotel comfy and clean staff were accommodating the breakfast in the morning was very good. One thing I’d note is use the ear plugs left on the glass jar next to the bed, the high street can get busy in the early hours. ”

The brass-rail bed was super comfortable and my breakfast was cooked excellently by Peter, the other half of this welcoming (and hardworking) couple. “The staff are friendly and helpful. The building is rather old but full of character and with a lovely decor. The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from the station, very convenient. One thing to be aware of is that they don't start serving breakfast until 8.30am – something to keep in mind if you're planning an early start. ”

“Great location. The hotel is almost next door to the railway station. The room is clean, warm. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only drawback is that there is no lift and the staircase is very narrow, which made carrying four suitcases upstairs a real challenge.”

“Check in was 15:00. I arrived at 16:20 and the room was still not ready. I complained to the woman at the bar which serves as the reception, she apologised, asked me if I wanted a drink while I waited and then tried to charge me for it! Not a good start to my stay. However, the room itself was lovely, clean, comfortable, modern and stylish. Extremely good value for the price and literally opposite the train station. Entry to the hotel is via an app you have to download, but it worked well……
