The service in the restaurant was not so good. “My wife & I decided we needed a "just the two of us" getaway, & this establishment flashed up as a great deal for our time-frame. it's easy to reach off the M4, which was great, & even on a Friday evening it wasn't a bark to get to even though we were expecting commuter traffic. We were quickly checked in & allocated our room (#8, ground floor rear of the court yard, nearest the car park!). We weren't at all disappointed with the quality, size & comfort of this recently decorated haven. Lovely……

“Excellent and cosy place to stay and to eat. Just a short journey from Oxford, and in the middle of lovely countryside. The Bell has a lovely country atmosphere with a stylish bar and restaurant. Service and food is excellent. Bedrooms are comfortable and have everything you could need at a reasonable price. Special mention for Toby, who works at the speed of light to ensure your evening meal is wonderful. A definate must visit for anyone in the Oxford area.”

“Very pleasant staff with a warm greeting. I was shown to my room which was very small and only just accommodated a double bed. The bathroom was equally minute and sadly both were in need of refreshing the decor. The main negatives was the level of lighting that had little effect on the dark and dingy room. “Overall, a charming property with real character. The room was beautifully decorated, well appointed, and the bed was especially comfortable—perfect for unwinding.
