“Our arrival at the front door coincided with the manager walking out to switch on the central heating. No introductions were offered or made which left us feeling rather underwhelmed. Our room was exceptionally clean although a little tired and in need of some maintenance. The other house guests had booked through companies that specialise in walking tours and were provided with lunch packs each day. As we booked directly with the property, we were not aware of this service and it was not……

“Very nice hotel and spa with an excellent riverside location. The grounds are very nice and the rooms have excellent views of the Duoro river. The rooms and bathrooms are good and the breakfast was very good. The reception, bar and restaurant staff were very helpful and worked hard. The restaurant was OK but not exceptional. Overall, an excellent hotel.”

“Lovely hotel. The room was spacious and clean. The spa was heaven as the indoor pool, hot tub and Turkish bath were included. I didn't see the sense in having to buy the shower cap/swimming cap as it wasn't waterproof ”

“Great view from the room and the cafeteria/restaurant. The mountain and the river behind are spectacular. The room itself is quite nice and big as well. However, the only public transportation to get to the hotel is by bus. Even it is only three minutes walk to downtown, still strongly recommend to rent a car if you would like to explore more in the neighborhood. The hotel has its own underground parking lot. So it is not a problem for parking.”
