“Wonderful Escapism A treat away for my 50th birthday. Exceptional service throughout our stay from bar and restaurant staff, through to the lovely cleaning ladies. Made my stay very special, fabulous food both at the Pilchard Inn and the black tie dinner. Any little issues were dealt with straight away and am already looking for an excuse to go back again, oh and you must brave it and take a swim in the mermaid pool.”

“What a gem of a find! Lovely hotel, recently refurbished from derelict and oh my what a wonderful job they have done! Decor is bright and clean. Amazing view of the bay from the huge lounge window. Single room was clean and comfortable with en-suite bath, shower and toilet. A working TV with all the channels which was unusual in my experience and much welcomed. “We had the most amazing stay at gara rock . The place is beautiful and set in amazing beachside settings with breathtaking views. Everything is exceptional, the hotel, the setting, the food and the staff. They really made the stay fantastic as they went above and beyond to accommodate you and make sure you have the best stay. “Everything was v clean. We stayed in the Wotter Room on the second floor. Yes it could all do with a bit of a paint in patches but the room is charming and huge. The view was amazing - we could see the fireworks in Plymouth the first night that we stayed. Had a fab Nepalese curry on Wednesday followed by an Indian pudding which was delicious. Steak on the second night. The hotel is on the edge of Dartmoor but close enough to the local tourist attractions. We will definitely return. ”

“Really friendly staff (especially the breakfast lady!) and a great location. I probably should have researched first to spot live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. That wasn’t that much of an issue as over by 22.30 (both bands were pretty good to be fair) but the rowdy hen party on Saturday kept us awake long after the band had finished. ”
